The Havering Drug Alcohol Action Team are at the heart of bringing together services working to solve substance misuse problems that affect the community at large. By supporting those who need help with their drug and alcohol problem we are helping to re-build the community.
We work in close partnership with other key agencies as well as families, young people, criminal justice system, health and social care professionals to help deliver projects, which set out to reduce the harm drugs and alcohol do to our society.
Havering DAAT is in the process of developing services to fill the gaps that have been identified. We work with young people from 10-18 years old and with the people that are involved with them, their family, friends, teachers, youth and social workers. We all have a part to play.
One of the central aims of the Government's Drug Strategy is:
Preventing today’s young people from becoming tomorrow’s problem drug users.
A key aim under the Every Child Matters ‘Be Healthy’ outcome for children and young people is:
Young People choosing not to take illegal drugs.
Havering DAAT through its Young Person Plan is committed to delivering services that clearly link into the central aims of the Government's Drug Strategy and meeting the needs of young people within the London Borough of Havering.
